NewTek today announced that a range of leading music industry brands including Yamaha, Dean Guitars, John Lennon Educational Tour Bus and NAMM will use TriCaster™ to produce and live stream events, demos, announcements, artist interviews and more from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) show, January 19-22, 2012. For the third consecutive year, music industry powerhouses have turned to NewTek to bring the NAMM experience to fans and viewers over the Web. Almost a million viewers are expected to tune in over the course of the show – both on-site and from remote locations. NewTek will also be exhibiting at the NAMM Show in booth #1821 Hall E.

MTV used Blackmagic Design technology for live video switching and graphics for production of daily news content for their international TV channels
Blackmagic Design today announced that MTV, a division of Viacom International Media Networks, used Blackmagic Design’s ATEM Production Switcher to help broadcast the 2011 MTV EMAs. The 2011 MTV EMA show is the brand’s largest international music property, hosted in a different city each year. This year’s show was hosted by Selena Gomez live from Belfast, and featured ‘A-list performers’ such as Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Coldplay, Snow Patrol and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

Blackmagic Design today announced HyperDeck Software Update 2.0, a new software update for its popular HyperDeck Studio that adds broadcast quality compressed 10 bit recording and playback to the Avid® DNxHD® format. DNxHD is a broadcast industry standard for media files and adding native support for this compressed video format into HyperDeck Studio will allow dramatically longer recoding times, lower media storage costs, and full file format compatibility with Avid Media Composer® systems. All media is recorded in MXF format, so it’s immediately available in Media Composer without any time consuming file copying or import processing.
