Zaxcom’s Mystery Box Gets a Name; No, It Isn’t “Little Z”

Rumors have been swirling around the intertubes for some time about Zaxcom bowing a new portable recording unit at this year’s NAB, and the name of the unit has just been made public via Coffeysound’s Twitter feed. Behold:

A quick search revealed this tidbit from Trademarkia:

Word Mark : NOMAD
Goods and Services: portable digital audio disk recorder and mixer for commercial broadcast quality reproduction

Interesting name choice, considering that Creative Labs sold an MP3 recorder (later discontinued) called the Nomad in the early aughts.
